MAC to the Rescue...

On Saturday, I was in a pinch trying to rush around Georgetown before a black tie event, when I realized my cosmetics bag was at work.

What's a girl to do?

Well, I hit every makeup store I could, to see if anyone was available to doll me up... and I got BEYOND lucky that Sasha at MAC was there to help!

Now, truth be told I hadn't used MAC cosmetics in years, but I've now added a bunch of their products to my daily routine. Seriously, this stuff is amazing!

Sasha was incredible and created the perfect smokey eye/dewy skin/pale lip look that transformed me. I can be pretty critical of how others do my makeup, and she definitely did the best job!

I completely recommend any DC ladies to pay her, and the other folks at MAC, a visit. Especially if you have a special night out! Oh... and the packaging for their summer line is Prippy heaven!

I'm glad it worked out for you. I would only add, being the daughter of a former makeup artist & the best friend of one (both starting at shops & working their way up), that it is good form to buy one thing or to tip someone. I used to visit my friend & was shocked to see how people took advantage of her. I'm sure you did not do that, but I find many younger women now do not know their way around this sort of situation.

I bet you looked lovely. One of my sisters always, but always, wears Cherish by MAC. So you just reminded me that her birthday is nigh & she can always use another tube.

Cheers.

Hi Susan!

How cool that your mom was a makeup artist... and now your besty!

Thanks for your wonderful comment! I bought tons of stuff... and was so excited by all of the new products she shared with me. It was such a great time, too! I'm already excited to go back to Sasha for my next special occasion... or when I just want to get decked out!

At least in most spots in DC, they either charge for the application or you buy $50 worth of product. In the case of MAC, it was beyond worth it!

Thanks for reading and I'm totally excited to try out Cherish on my next visit.

I'm in DC, Pripplette. (that's affectionate). Were you at the shop in G-town? I pop in to pick up my favorite eyebrow pencil (Lingering) or something for that sister I mention above, after my monthly salon visit. In which, I submit to ministrations a la the Lion in Wizard of Oz (that's how I always feel--I am quite silly, yes, but I do not sing "I am King of the Forest afterward). Have gone to the same place since moving here to go to university (with stops in France & Italy & North Africa..beforehand). It's one of the few place I still "recognize" of old DC. (It was a lot more friendly then.)

Ciao, darling. I'm glad you had a good time at the event. I shall recommend Sasha when people can't afford my friend. (Though she is a sucker for someone in need...I know, sometime I am that person.)

I'll sign into Google & 'fess up to who I am:)

I absolutely adore MAC makeup artists, they are truly the best! I hired a MAC pro for my wedding and it was the best decision I ever made, she made everyone look and feel fantastic. And I am forever in love with their lipsticks and Blot powder, can't live without it.

I love Hip Hip Gin Gin - thanks for stopping by, Em!

MAC is now my new secret weapon is fabulous! Their foundation, as I learned while there, was created for "Baywatch." Now me and Pamela Anderson have another thing in common ;)
