A Tip From A Lady... Sophia Lauren

"There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will truly have defeated age."

- Sophia Loren

TVacation

I'm not one to poo-poo television - in fact, I think it is fabulous!

But tonight, we are a TV-Free household... and it is heavenly.

I heart TVacations every now and then.

San Francisco... Guide to Great Food

Well... I think I've finally settled back into East Coast life after my week in San Francisco.

We had a ball! And we ate some amazing food. So, I wanted to share the best of the best!

The spot above is the amazing Foreign Cinema. Not only was the atmosphere gorgeous, but the food was fantastic California cuisine. Oh, and they play art house films on the wall outside!

Our incredible concierge (seriously the BEST!) at The Clift recommended Golden Mountain for dim sum. So much fun and a culinary adventure. The dumplings were the best I've had before!

Upon the recommendation of Liz from Octavian & Brown, a fab design blog, we hit the Ferry Terminal Farmer's Market on Saturday for pork sandwiches from Roli Roti. Amazing!

We took a street car to Spruce for a work dinner Sunday and it was divine!

I stopped by my favorite cafe, Tartine, to pick up some treats.

We swung past the beyond charming Bi-Rite to sample the balsamic vinegar strawberry ice cream!

And of course, we had the greatest Mexican food at El Farolito.

Good thing we walked everywhere we possibly could! Thanks to all of our wonderful fellow Prippys for sharing your special spots with us.

Peach Perfect... Lips

With summer truly right around the corner, I'm ready to try out some fresher looks. Peach lipstick seems to be doing the trick for me these days!

What better inspiration than Grace Kelly for finding the perfect pout color? Estee Lauder Portifino Coral is a great option.

Also check out the universally flattering Cristalle Peach by Chanel.

Prippy Pleasures... Hammocks

Doesn't this picture say it all? Can someone please zap me to this location immediately!?!

Prippys love hammocks - it is as simple as that!

Dressing for San Fran...

How perfect is this dress from Anthropologie for dinner in San Fran?

The ship print and rope details are simply perfect for one of our nights out on the town!

Best part... it was on sale!

If You're Going to San Francisco... Oh Wait, I Am

So, Bryan and I are heading out to San Francisco in two weeks for work... and of course some play! And we'll be watching some classic Hithcock to get ready.

San Fran is a total Prippy paradise...

And while I've been before, I'd love to hear some of your favorite spots in SF!

Oh... and any fun hotel recs would be much appreciated.

Drink Your Milk... Momofuku Milk Bar

Momofuku Milk Bar, the East Village spin on a bakery, is truly awesome!

Cereal Milk... Compost Cookies with chips (of the chocolate AND potato variety) and pretzels... Cherries Jubilee soft serve... oh... and pork buns.

Satellite of Love...

Sometimes a certain album will dominate my life... and recently the Velvet Underground has reigned supreme.

How can so much style ooze out of one group?

Are you guys the same way? Do you ever get hooked on one band for a while?

I Love You, Maine

Maine is one of my favorite places on earth. Prippys simply love Maine!

Since it feels like summer is coming early today, I started thinking of my favorite places to spend those long warm nights. Maine immediately came to mind!

Here are some of my favorite things about Maine:

Conte's... one of the most unique and legendary restaurants in the country. Located on the water in Rockland, it's a must and pure Maine.

Wild blueberries... the beautiful wild blueberries cover the hills, making the landscape even more gorgeous. Plus, they make for delicious blueberry crisp, blueberry ice cream, and blueberry beer!

Lobster... a lobster roll from Red's Eats is a good way to start! One of my favorite Maine memories involved driving along the coast to a lobster pound a bit south of Camden. We crossed tiny bridges along rocky coast to get the tastiest lobster you could imagine.

Summer nights with sweaters... Maine nights with sweaters and shorts. Sleeping with the windows open and needing a summer blanket is heaven.

So maybe a trip up the coast is in order this year!

What are some of your favorite summer spots? I definitely have more, but I've had Maine on the brain today!
