Prippy Staples... Hook Belts

Hook belts are such a classic piece for any Prippy gentleman's wardrobe.

Rugged... and yet perfectly crafted, this belt has a real special place in my heart, and I think any guy would be proud to sport such a well-made item.

Wiley Brothers, an artisan leather company based in one of my fave local getaways, Charlottesville, VA., makes a beautiful one.

In My Library... The Stylist's Guide to NYC

It shouldn't come as a surprise that I adore Sibella Court (see here!), and I'm thrilled that her new book is now out - The Stylist's Guide to NYC.

If you're a lucky duck, you can check out Sibella in person at the Soho Anthropologie on May 26. I'm even considering making the jaunt from DC to meet her myself!

The book is for sale through her website and at Anthro stores across the country. Definitely a great gift for anyone who loves NYC!

Bridal Notes... Lanvin Style

I received a wonderful gift from one of my bridesmaid's this past week... a Lanvin notebook perfect for keeping track of my wedding plans.

I love the illustration on the cover, and the thoughtfulness behind the present.

Prippy Dining... Minetta Tavern

I just got back from a whirlwind trip to Boston and NYC... and while in the Big Apple, I celebrated a huge professional success for a close friend at Minetta Tavern, one of my fave spots to pop some champagne and have a delicious meal.

Minetta Tavern is tucked in a crowded block of NYU bars and happens to be across the street from another gem spot, The Rabbit Club. Stepping through the corner door is like stepping back in time.

I love sitting at the bar and enjoying bone marrow and bubbly followed by coconut cake to top it off. The burger is also amazing! Be forewarned, Minetta is a popular spot, so if you'd like to dine at a table definitely call weeks out for a reservation.

Bold and Beautiful... Derek Lam

I'm in love with Derek Lam's Spring Collection.

Bright, bold prints in long dress form are my kryptonite... especially when combined with a piece of lucite statement jewelry.

I'm getting ready to pack for another wedding (see my Boston post, please!), and I wish I was in possession of this amazing dress!

Delicious, Delicious... Lavender Honey Drops

Abeille Occitane Boules de Miel Honey Filled Candy have become a bit of an obsession in my household. Too tasty for words.

Boston Bound...

Dear Prippys,

I'm off to Boston on Friday... and I would love to know if you have any favorite spots for me to check out. I have some free time before my dear friends get hitched Saturday, and I will be staying right off of Copley Square.

So please let me know about any hidden gems!

Warmest wishes,

TG

Cheers... St-Germain

Ah... St-Germain... you make cocktails more delicious!

This elderflower liqueur is the perfect way to spruce up champagne or white wine, and create a drink that is as fresh as spring.

Cheers! Oh, and the packaging is gorgeous...

Bowie Wit and Wisdom...

Nothing much could happen
Nothing we can't shake
Oh we're absolute beginners
With nothing much at stake
As long as you're still smiling
There's nothing more I need
I absolutely love you
But we're absolute beginners
But if my love is your love
We're certain to succeed

~ lyrics from "Absolute Beginners" by David Bowie

On the Hunt... Pagoda Perfection

I've been eying a prippy classic, the pagoda chandelier, for ages now and this orange version really has really stolen my decorating heart.

With a thrift road trip in my not too distant future, I'm adding this fixture to my hunting wish list.

What are you on the hunt for? Is there an antique apple of your eye?

Gossip Girl Gorgeous...

Yep... I love Gossip Girl... and I also love Jenny Packham...

So, I was super giddy to see Blair wearing one of her stunning soft and dreamy creations.

Cheers...

I think that more drinks should be served in silver cups, don't you?

Happy Mint Julep season!
