Off the Cuff Brilliance...

I love "Kell On Earth" as much as the next girl, but I've gotta say that I'm loving their Hermes Medor watches even more than the show!

So tough... so chic... plus it will look awesome with all the Old Navy and Target scores I found!

One for me, please!

In the Navy

Sometimes it happens... like a magical rainbow... that all your fave lower cost shops have TONS of amazing things!

This was the case for me at Old Navy recently. It was a total jackpot!

They have amazing striped tees... the most comfy slip-on faded sneaks... and great colored cardis.

Seriously need to give a hats off to their design team this season... even if it's a clear rip off J. Crew!

PS - I didn't even mention how much I LOVE the Liberty of London Target line... AMAZING!

For My Peeps

I LOVE Peeps! Love'em! My favorite Easter candy for sure.

How about you guys? What's your fave?

Scrapple in the City

Here's my lil' guy! Scrapple is on his way to one of the many Capitol Hill dog parks. Exhausting... but wonderful!

All I Can Say Is... WOW

Hello fellow Prippys (if you're still out there)!

It's been a heck of a few weeks... and I've been a bad Blogger... which actually makes me feel pretty damn bad!

Well, it all happens so quickly sometimes, right? Life just sneaks right up on you.

I got a promotion at work and a whole new job, so life has been crazy with that alone. Then my little man came into my life. Horatio Scrapple... who like a good Prippy, goes by his middle name Scrapple. I LOVE him! But, he is exhausting!

So, with all the work and all the puppy... blogging and I hate to say boyfriend/friends/sleep has been put on the back burner.

Hopefully things will settle down, because I have tons to share!

48 hours... Until Horatio

Here's my little man, Horatio, as a pup. He's seven months now. And he'll be here Saturday at 5:20 p.m.

EXCITED!

Timex = Timeless

I was shopping at one of my favorite spots, Filene's Basement, and found an amazing Timex watch on sale!

I'm loving the big face on this gold stretchy band!

Timex has always been a solid watchmaker, and with J. Crew now promoting them, I think they're getting their moment in the sun... but definitely check out Filene's before shelling out the dough for the inflated prices at the Crew!

Think Pink...

In high school, I joked around that pink food just tasted better!

So... I'm older (and oh so wiser!) now, but I think it's true... pink food tastes better!

Right now I'm dreaming of pink meringues. Mmmmmmmm

Meet Horatio... Best Thing Ever

This little guy is joining our family Saturday!

I've been dying to share the news, but wanted to wait until it wasn't too far off... so that I wouldn't get too excited and then have to wait a long time!

His name is Horatio - after the street I lived on in the West Village up in NYC. Here he is with his bro (he's on the left!)!

He's going to be Bella's new besty while I'm at work, and we just can't wait!

Sunday... Prippy Sunday

I know most people don't love Sunday... but its somehow become my favorite day!

Basically, here's why:

~ Sunday NYT Style Section
~ Sleeping in
~ Catching up on laundry and having the house smell like dryer sheets
~ Eastern Market has my favorite vendors on Sunday (best jewelry lady ever!)
~ "Secret Diary of a Call Girl" on Showtime... love it
~ Spending time with Bryan getting ready for our week
~ Sunday morning political shows (don't hate me!)
~ Dinner at home
~ Lincoln Park full of doggies
~ Early bedtime

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend - and here's to hoping for a fantastic week!

Simple Pleasures... French Soap

Savon de Marseille Soap is such a simple and decadent pleasure.

It's sappy to say... but this soap makes me so happy anytime I find it! Plus, the olive oil base is amazing on the skin!

It's Not How Good You Are, It's How Good You Want to Be

"Your vision of where or who you want to be is the greatest asset you have."

This book is kind of my bible. Meaning, I LOVE it!

Paul Arden was an advertising executive who many consider one of the greats!

And in his book, "It's Not How Good You Are, It's How Good You Want to Be," he spells out what in his mind leads to someone being successful. It's a quick read and it will change your thinking about business, ideas, creativity, and success.

HUGE recommendation for checking out this book!

And the Winner Is... Michelle Williams

By FAR my favorite Oscar look is Michelle Williams in yellow Vera Wang with a stunning red lip and fabulous necklace. Flawless!

Now who will dress to impress Sunday... any guesses?

Girls in Pearls...

Oh my... C.Z. Guest and Consuelo Balsan in pearls. Loving it!

Delicious, Delicious... Perfect Ice Cream Sandwich

For some reason tonight, I cannot stop dreaming of Ici's Meyer Lemon and Ginger Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich.

I use to get them at the Berkeley Farmer's Market when I would work from California... and it was one of the best treats I've ever consumed! I also love the foil wrapper and the small white sticker with cursive writing.

Now... how do I get them shipped to DC?!

Hello, Office

Looky here at what I just got for my office. Love MadeByGirl's work!

Oh... and I think I've caught that Etsy-Blogger obsession disease!

Zero Sum Game... The Bachelor

I've got this theory... it's the Zero Sum Game Theory of Dating.

Let me explain... when two AWFUL people date each other, they cancel one another out for the rest of the normal people out there who might have potentially had to date their brand of crazy.

In the case of tonight's "The Bachelor" finale, this is exactly what happened. Two cheesy self-indulgent morons found love, sparing the beautiful and nice woman to find the right man.

So on that note... BRAVO Vienna and Jake. You truly deserve each other. Tenley was WAY out of his league!

Style and Substance... "Great Expectations"

One of my favorite movies in high school was the remake of "Great Expectations." Got to say... it's still on my list of favorites!

The shots of Estella (love the name) and Finn as kids were filmed near a vacation home we'd go to in Florida, and the scenes were even more magical as a result.

Estella's style has stayed with me from high school until the present day! My favorite was her green outfit in NYC, when she meets Finn at the foutain.

The art and snobbery and passion and loathing of love unfulfilled makes this movie a Prippy classic!

Oh... and the soundtrack is still completely amazing!
