Destination Wedding Bound... Harbour Island, Bahamas

Wedding season starts with a bang for me... and tomorrow morning I head off to Harbour Island in the Bahamas for a friend's wedding.

While Bryan has wedding party obligations prior to the big event, I plan on checking out the beach, going for long swims, and finding some great beach bars.

Any recommendations would be amazing! I know it's a small island, but I love hearing from you.

And I'm curious... what have been your favorite destination wedding spots?

A Dress to Sail Away In...

Tried this number on today at Talbot's (their Julianne Moore marketing campaign worked - ha!) and absolutely loved it.

I can totally picture myself sipping a dark and stormy in this dress getting ready to set off for an evening cruise with Lovey Howell.

The "Lillys" Are Blooming...

One evening in college, I had a very preppy gentleman approach me at a bar while I was sporting a Lilly Pulitzer dress on the first warm spring night.

His line, you ask? "I see that the lilies are blooming."

I'm not sure I was able to hide my laughter at this ridiculous remark, but years later my friends and I still get a kick out of saying it to one another when we wear our Lilly.

Tipping My Hat to the Weekend...

Easter weekend is upon us, and I'm heading off to my family's home at the beach. After a crazy 2 weeks, I can't wait to relax with my family and eat some Easter candy.

Prippy Paper... Zebra Power

My mind has been wondering a wee bit these days... and I've found myself day dreaming about home decor more and more.

At the top of my day dream decor list is wallpaper. I've become obsessed!


Now, I know I've already waxed poetic about Osborne & Little's Asuka wallpaper, which is super lux with its romantic golden hues.

But I also dream about dancing and prancing zebras. Which brings me to my next wallpaper lust, Scalamandré's zebras in red. I love it so!

The first time I saw this glorious print was walking past Gino's, an old school New York spot not too far from Bloomingdale's. It was love at first site.


Years later, I was delighted to the paper again in the Prippy Classic, "The Royal Tennenbaums." Oh.... Margot....

Simple Pleasures... French Press Coffee

Why is the ritual of making a french press with delicious coffee so wonderful?

I love not fussing with a coffee maker in the morning, and boiling water is about as simple as it gets, so I guess my preference should come as no secret. And the ease of the french press, and the tastiness that ensues, makes made me very happy this morning.

How do you like your coffee?

Cha Cha Cha Changes...

I love change. I know not everyone does, but I most certainly do. New beginnings, new adventures, and new friends are exciting. I've got some change going on professionally right now that is absolutely for the best, but it did cause me to neglect ye olde blog a bit.

Thanks for sticking it out and I am thrilled about what's to come...

Prippy Dream Home... Sowden House

Sowden House, located in Los Angeles, is like something out of a Prippy dream...


Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright's son, Lloyd Wright, this place is an architectural masterpiece that looks like it belongs on a different planet... like Planet Awesome. Seriously, I'm ready to move in tomorrow!


And there's hope for me, because you can actually rent Sowden House and live the dream, even if just for a night!
