Simply Gorgeous... Emily Deschanel
Emily Deschanel made for the most beautiful bride in her gorgeous nude-hued wedding gown.
I would love to wear this look from top to bottom... and think she makes a gorgeous bride. For more photos, head over to Sogni e Sorrisi.
Prippys love the Deschanels.

And the World Got a Little Bit Smaller...
On my way to Vermont, I had the absolute privilege of stopping by Deanna's Silly Goose Farm. And although we only knew each other as modern day pen pals through our blogs, it felt like I was spending time with a long lost super stylish friend.
I can't wait to share some pictures and more of our lovely afternoon visit, but I have a French Bulldog to walk at the moment...
But I'm curious, have you made new friends through blogging? I think it is one of the neatest things about the whole blog world.
PS ~ The wedding escort cards were vintage postcards like the one above and it was such a nice touch!
Prippy of Influence...Gillian Frisk Schwartz
I love the NYT (as Prippys, of course, do) and T Magazine has an extra special place in my heart.
Yesterday's feature on Gillian Frisk Schwartz was such a treat. She is the wunderkind behind the creative branding firm Schwartz & Sons based in NYC.
I definitely recommend checking out the Q & A with this awesome woman. Super talented... super cool.

In My Library... Storefront
Clic Bookstore & Gallery in NYC is one of my favorite spots to stop by when in NYC. I completely lose track of time looking at the exhibits and flipping through their gorgeous books.
One show that really made a lasting impact on me was James and Karla Murray's, entitled "Storefront." It featured old neon signs from around the city. For some reason, I've always been slightly obsessed with these signs, and the book accompanying the exhibit is amazing.
Vermont Bound...
Tomorrow I head off on a road trip to Arlington, Vermont for a wonderful wedding weekend celebrating a great couple.
I'm excited for watching the two say "I Do," but I'm also really looking forward to the driving adventure and seeing Vermont at this time of year.
So if you have any recs for stops between DC and VT, let me know! I know you... sweet reader... have great taste.
I Love You, Fall...
Hello fall... I'm so happy that you're here!
Prippys love fall because it means tons of tweed, tailgates, apple picking, pumpkin carving, hats and scarfs, fires, and the leaves changing.
Fall has always been my favorite season, and after such a hot summer, I'm happy that the cooler breezes are blowing. Oh, and that Pumpkin Spice Lattes are here.
I'm also excited to check out the full moon tonight. Have a feeling I'll be humming this classic tune...
What's your favorite thing about fall?

Skunked...
I don't think I ever told you guys about what happened to one of our adorable pup pups over Labor Day Weekend... she got skunked!
We were at the beach with my family, and she didn't come when called. After a minute, she busted into the house with a smell like no other. Have you ever smelled skunk spray? Not as cute as the French skunks make it seem in cartoons.
After some scrambling and comparing of old wife's tales about odor removers (vinegar, tomato paste, mud), turns out plain old shampoo does the trick just fine.
I still laugh thinking about my friends and family frantically yelling cures to Bry and I as we hosed down the poor lady! Definitely one of my favorite summer memories...
Oh, Monday...
Hope you all had a fantastic weekend... I definitely did! Oysters & Oxfords was truly lovely, and I enjoyed meeting some of my fellow bloggers... but more on that later.
After a long day, I'm home now with candles lit, dogs tired, new fall TV on (Gossip Girl, anyone?), and my man who understands that sometimes Mondays take a lot out of you!

Hooray for the Weekend...
Well hello there! This week took on a life of it's own and I feel like I've fallen off the face of the earth...
I'm relaxing tonight with movies (I still go to the brick and mortar Blockbuster, which apparently cracks folks up!) and sleepy dogs.
And I'm excited for an adventure to Baltimore tomorrow to attend Oxfords & Oysters, a charity event to help save the Chesapeake Bay. Prippys love charity events, and I'm extra excited for a little road trip!
Happy Friday... and I hope you have fabulous plans for the weekend.

Prippy of Influence... Barrie Benson
One of my favorite Domino covers featured Barrie Benson and her amazing renovated ranch home in North Carolina.
I remember being completely taken by her style, and her ability to turn an average home (with the help of her architect hubby) into a completely eclectic and warm showcase for patterns and textures. Case and point - her flagstone floored kitchen with vibrant seating.
The bedroom above is pretty much my ideal!
Her house is still one I dream about... and maybe one day I will find a Prippy palace to restore and make my own!
Welcome Back, Gossip Girl
Bring back B & S!
I'm so excited Gossip Girl is back... anyone else out there that I can dish with after the guilty pleasure?
This season looks fabulous!
P.S. ~ Don't you love their knowing look in this pic!
Update: Tucker for Target
So, I know we were all excited for the Tucker for Target line, which launched on Sunday... and I wanted to report back!
While the line does a great job of including skirts, dresses, and coats... the true deal here is with the Signature Shirts. For most of us, this is the cut we have come to expect from Tucker, and the Target version definitely delivers.
Thought you guys would like the report back... and the good news is that you can find the line in stock online!

Have a wonderful weekend...
What are you all up to this weekend? Bry and I are headed out for a date tonight, and we're excited to try a new cocktail bar in the neighborhood for some delicious drinks.
I'm hoping to relax and enjoy my neighborhood, Capitol Hill, this weekend... and also to spend some time reflecting on September 11.
I feel so grateful to be an American, and to have friends of every faith and belief system in my life... in my opinion, that's what makes this country of ours so great!
And if I see any of our troops, I will be sure to give them a big thank you!

Countdown... Tucker for Target
Anyone else counting down the Tucker for Target debut on Sunday? I'm a massive fan of the line and absolutely cannot wait!
There's just something about Fall that makes me want to "back to school" shop... thankfully this fulfills my need on the cheap!
Style Sister... Love at First Shop
I love it when fabulous bloggy worlds collide, don't you?
For example, I wrote about the fabulous Sibella Court... only to find a comment left by Sibella herself on my blog! Even better than that, she shared that she has 2 more books in the works (hooray!).
Well, another magic blog moment happened as I was searching for a picture of an amazing skirt I picked up at H&M (for super cheap)... and I found this pretty picture of it on the amazing woman behind one of my new must reads, Love at First Shop! She shares all of her outfit info, plus great style tips. Her accessible style makes you want to hit the shops! Below is a description of the pic above...
What I'm wearing:

Prippy of Influence... Sibella Court
Like most Prippys, I love me some Anthropologie... especially the fantastic show "Man Shops Globe." One episode that I really adored featured the gorgeous Sibella Court.
Sibella (love the name) is the brilliant mind behind behind The Society, Inc. a magical and ever changing store in Sydney. Her eye for color is inspired, and the softness to her interiors is otherworldly.
Her book, Etcetera: Creating Beautiful Interiors With The Things You Love, is on my gift list for the upcoming holiday season... so fingers crossed my loved ones are reading and need birthday ideas!
Delicious, Delicious... Maine Root's Soda
Lucky for me, food trucks are all the rage in DC... including a favorite NYC import, Red Hook Lobster Pound.
And now what goes well with a lobster roll? Well, since you asked (aka are still reading!), Maine Root's soda is a perfect pairing!
Today my colleague and I went on a great quest for the truck in an attempt to stretch out summer, and we enjoyed the many soda flavors offered, including Mexi-Vanilla Cola and Black Cherry.
Started by 2 brothers, Maine Root is the kind of company that makes you want to act on that great idea you had to make that great thing you make that everyone loves... check it out!
