I'm in love with this painting by Robert Beck for so many reasons...

One big reason being that it depicts the new venue (long story) for our wedding in Cape May, NJ.

Check out this amazing, inspiring, and mind blowing house featured in NY Magazine... the awesomeness is overwhelming!

Do you think the family living there would notice if I moved into one of the 72 rooms?


I've read the article 3 times now, and I'm still captivated. I love you, NY Mag!


The incredible changes to the Bowery neighborhood make this story even more unbelievable. This "house" is now surrounded by some of NYC's best shops and restaurants.


Can you imagine?!? Talk about a good investment!

After having a case of the blues yesterday, an old favorite of mine came on the radio and instantly put a big smile on my face, caused me to roll down my windows, and sing at the top of my lungs.

I think that these mini-cones from Trader Joe's are the perfect treat. At 70 calories, they definitely satisfy anyone looking for a sweet summer treat.

She cracks me up and I have so much respect for her as a entrepreneur. Even Bry (not Bravo's biggest fan!) gets a kick out of her.

Well It's True That We Love One Another...

Sad to hear the news about one of my fave mudel (musician/model) couples, Karen Elson and Jack White, parting ways... but their public split has been in the news for the best reason.... because it is amicable! They are throwing an anniversary/divorce party to celebrate their 6 years together.


Now not perhaps the route I would take, but to each their own. And as far as gossip goes, I'll take a friendly ending of a marriage over a fight any day.

And this song (which seems super appropriate) is one of my faves...

Engagement Shoot...

I'm thrilled to be heading to my old neighborhood in NYC Friday for our engagement shoot with my fave photographer, Tec Petaja. He is also our wedding photographer, and I'm super excited to meet him in person after months of emails.

At first, I was on the fence about the whole notion of engagement photos. When I looked at wedding blogs, I got overwhelmed by how highly stylized some of the shoots looked... and while beautiful photos of couples eating macaroons on quilts with old typewriters are amazing eye candy... it isn't who Bry and I are as a couple. We're much more beers and burgers with a jukebox!

But after seeing Tec's artistry as a photographer, I knew that we could be ourselves and he would just capture beautiful shots of us in a place we love, the West Village, during this special time in our lives. Plus, we couldn't pass up a chance to meet Tec before our wedding.


Now I'm just a few days away from the big shoot, and trying to throw together a few outfits.

I would love your thoughts on any gorgeous classic dresses you may have seen out there. Oh... and I did pick up that Marc Jacobs number I posted about a few weeks ago... and it was half off!

UPDATE: The shoot got postponed... can't wait to let you know when it gets rescheduled!

Wagoneers are most certainly a Prippy staple when it comes to transportation.

Wagonmaster is an amazing site that sells Wagoneers and will deliver them anywhere in the U.S. I think Bry and I definitely need one of these for our pup-pup/human family.

In My Library... The Sun Also Rises

One of my favorite books is Hemingway's Prippy classic, The Sun Also Rises.

I re-read this classic every summer and dream of bullfights, boxing, and booze.

If you haven't read it, check it out! Make yourself a Jack Rose (applejack, grenadine, and lemon or lime juice) and enjoy.

With the summer heat in full swing here in DC, I'm finding myself needing water on my bedside table for middle of the night thirst quenching.

New Look... Navy Bean

Hello! I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend.

I spent time by the pool, but I also went to the World War II Memorial to see some veterans from "The Greatest Generation" and remember what the day is all about.
