Delicious, Delicious... Maine Root's Soda
Lucky for me, food trucks are all the rage in DC... including a favorite NYC import, Red Hook Lobster Pound.
And now what goes well with a lobster roll? Well, since you asked (aka are still reading!), Maine Root's soda is a perfect pairing!
Today my colleague and I went on a great quest for the truck in an attempt to stretch out summer, and we enjoyed the many soda flavors offered, including Mexi-Vanilla Cola and Black Cherry.
Started by 2 brothers, Maine Root is the kind of company that makes you want to act on that great idea you had to make that great thing you make that everyone loves... check it out!

Delicious, Delicious... Mast Brothers Chocolate
Mast Brothers Fleur de Sel is one of the most delicious chocolate creations of all times. I love dark chocolate, and the salt pushes this over the edge of heavenly.
The handmade goodness is top-to-bottom with this bar... including the gorgeous wrapping.

Delicious, Delicious... Grape Gazpacho
With this summer heat taking a toll on my appetite (not complaining!), I've been loving simple cold soups for dinner.
My favorite has been a grape gazpacho from the delicious and adorable gourmet pizza shop in my neighborhood, Seventh Hill. If you're in DC, it's worth the trip!
After craving this perfect summer dinner night after night, I decided to try it on my own and love the recipe below from Chowhound. Enjoy!
INGREDIENTS
~ 2 cups peeled, seeded, and diced cucumbers
~ 2 cups seeded and diced tomatillos
~ 2 cups diced white grapes
~ 1/4 cup ginger juice
~ Salt and freshly ground white pepper to taste
1. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl; season to taste.
2. Place three-fourths of the mixture in a food processor and process until smooth.
3. Put it back in the bowl with remaining fruit and vegetables and stir to combine. Serve chilled.

Delicious, Delicious... People's Pops
It got hot in a hurry in DC, but thankfully the past 2 days have been a bit of a reprieve!
But even without the sweltering beat down thanks to old man humidity, I've had frozen deliciousness on the brain... especially in the form of People's Pops.
I was fortunate enough to stumble across their shop in Chelsea Market the last time I was in NYC, and had to try the Plum Tarragon Yogurt. Heavenly!
Their business is brilliant! I'm obsessed with just about ever damn aspect of it. The flavors are seasonal, creative, and super tasty. And their branding is genius, as is their blog.
Now if only I can convince them to have a DC stand... at Eastern Market perhaps... I'd be sublimely happy and cool all summer (well at least when I had one). I'd even man the stand!
Prippys for People's Pops!

Delicious, Delicious... Perfect Ice Cream Sandwich
For some reason tonight, I cannot stop dreaming of Ici's Meyer Lemon and Ginger Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich.
I use to get them at the Berkeley Farmer's Market when I would work from California... and it was one of the best treats I've ever consumed! I also love the foil wrapper and the small white sticker with cursive writing.
Now... how do I get them shipped to DC?!

Delicious, Delicious
As I've been getting ready for my birthday, I started to think about the best cakes I've tasted. The Lady M Signature Crepe Cake is definitely on the list... as is vanilla cake with vanilla icing from a box. What's the best cake you've ever had and what was the occasion?

Delicious, Delicious
In a few weeks, I'm off to New Orleans for a long weekend birthday celebration! I can't wait, and I've been counting down the days until I'm listening to jazz, knocking back Hurricanes, and enjoying one of the most amazing cities. I was lucky enough to find a can of Cafe Du Monde at the grocery store, and every morning I've been loving the unique coffee with chicory blend made famous in New Orleans.
If you enjoy smokey flavors - definitely check it out!
